03 - 06 Feb 2020, Facilities Management program visit to London

We were pleased to be able to take the whole FM program to London for some “on the Job” experience with a visit to ARCADIS at their UK head office in London, followed by a visit to the Palace of Westminster to see how they deal with the FM problems and how the center of Uk government is managed. We also visited the head of FM for the National Army Museum in Chelsea, to see the problems and solutions they have with the facility being open to the public and how they look after all the exhibits. We must thank all the companies that supported us on this trip including Tom and the team at ARCADIS. If you would like us to run a program for you, please just get in touch.

28th November 2019, ERS Silver Awards Ceremony at St Fagans

The British Training Board were one of nineteen Welsh employers who have received Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) ‘Silver Awards’ from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for their support of the armed forces community.

The winners include local authorities and private sector employers, ranging from micro-employers to small and medium-sized enterprises based in Wales.

The awards winners were formally presented with their certificates at the prestigious 2019 Armed Forces in Wales and ERS Silver Awards Ceremony held at St Fagans.

Commenting on the announcement of the 2019 Employer Recognition Scheme Silver awards,
Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace said:

“These awards recognise the outstanding support for our armed forces from employers across Britain and I would like to thank and congratulate each and every one.

“Regardless of size, location or sector, employing ex-forces personnel is good for business and this year we have doubled the number of awards in recognition of the fantastic support they give.”

Minister for Defence People and Veterans Johnny Mercer said:

“Veterans make a huge contribution to businesses across the country and it’s fantastic to see a record breaking number of organisations recognised for their support.

“We’re working closely with businesses to help them further understand the huge value that veterans, reservists and military spouses can bring to their organisation.”

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme recognises those who demonstrate or advocate support to the armed forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant – a pledge from the nation that those who serve or who have served and their families are treated fairly.

Silver award winners must meet varied criteria, such as; employ at least one individual from the armed forces community, actively ensure that their workforce is aware of their positive policies, demonstrate support to mobilisations of reservists and provide at least five days additional leave for training.
